The idea is the same as D’ALEMBERT gambling strategy except that fact, that you increase the stake when you’re winning and decreasing – when you’re losing.
The example (the coefficient 2):

As you can see this strategy should be better used on the stakes, which win more often (especially time after time) than lose.
